In the morning I had a nice casual rehearsal with the 10th graders. We worked on getting selfies from them, and discussed favorite bands and music. I got a great list of Hungarian Bands to share with my students! Then I was introduced to the 7th graders! The girls really stepped up and knew the song really well so it was fun to hear their passion coming out through their voices. The boys, on the other hand, were not cooperating and being silly, but eventually gained composure and were able to sing the backup “heys” with us just fine. Looking forward to a full rehearsal tomorrow and our final performance! Truly an amazing experience from start to finish! After school, we had a tour of a home for the disabled where we joined in song and shared a wonderful time. Then a moving visit to a memorial of all the families that were taken to Auschwitz from the area. It was mind-blowing how entire families were wiped out. Entire columns with people bearing the same name lined this long wall, sharing the age of the victims as young as one year old! The night was much lighter with a visit to the Thermal Baths and a boat trip along the Danube, followed by a great meal with great people. Feeling very blessed and fortunate to be learning so much and sharing the journey with such an amazing group of humans!
