Alan and Glynis awaited us at the airport. The meeting was very touching. We spent the evening in Fran’s house together with the other members of the seminar and we celebrated Hanukkah’s last evening. We sang, talked and had dinner together. It was wonderful to share stories and get to know the group.
The second day: When we were well rested, we met our host Judy, who is an incredibly nice and charming lady. She is not only an excellent teacher, but she is a master chef! The breakfast what she had prepared received our Michelin star.
We spent Monday morning at Beth Sholom Jewish Early Childhood Center. We began to get acquainted with the Reggio program. Michelle and Meredith, the leaders of this school, took us around the groups.
First impressions: orderliness, calmness, respect, talkative walls, consciousness, large spaces. There is plenty of tangible, tactile, experimental material.
We had a work lunch here where Mara’s great knowledge impresses us.
We spent our afternoon downtown. We walked a lot, drank coffee and we visited the Holocaust Museum. The exhibition was very touching and thought-provoking.
An evening walk and a delicious dinner party with Melissa, Betti and Vanessa at Tenleys Bar ended our unforgettable day.
