I was extremely thrilled about the program. I told everybody that in a few days I would be in Baltimore, I couldn’t keep it in myself. I couldn’t wait to get on board and see my friends again after a long time. During the 6 slowly passing months while I was apart from them we chatted on WhatsApp and Instagram, shared the happy and sad moments of our life. It is nice to use technology for communication, but it’s different when you meet a person. That is why I was so glad that I had the rare opportunity to go to Baltimore twice. For this reason, I had the chance to see my friends from the first group of BT kids who came to Hungary and catch up with them as well. It was surprising for me that even though a year passed we talked as if only a few days had passed since we last met. I didn’t really have expectations before the flight. I just had a feeling that the week would be a memorable one and that I would learn a lot about the world and about myself too, not forgetting to mention that I would have tons of fun just as it happened for the first time when I had flown to America. During the trip, I felt good. I learned a lot about how the BT kids organized the community service that they did. It gave me motivation and I want to have something similar in my school, too. I enjoyed learning stress-releasing techniques. It was very useful to me. I tend to get stressed out a lot. I had several favorite moments during the trip. If I had to choose one I would say the afternoon we went to Skyzone. It is very difficult to choose one thing when you enjoy every single moment of a whole week. I loved spending time with my friends. I came home with a great feeling and knowledge that this program had achieved its great goal and I am proud to be the part of it. I hope that we will be successful and we can connect the two Jewish communities together strongly. I hope I will be able to stay in contact with my friends from BT for a long time. ~ Alexandra D., Grade 13
