Our first conference about Reggio Emilia approach in Sofia

Mara, Fran, Nia and I were working 3 months to have this amazing 5 days and I think we surpassed ourselves. We had learned a lot, we have talked a lot, we have connected people, we have the motivation and we ignited the passion of so many people.

Friday we welcomed our special educators Fran and Mara and also our special friends from Budapest – Szonja and her team. We had a tour around the preschool, we showed our best, we had a great lunch and small talks. It was good to see old friends and to have time with them in your second home – the preschool.

After the learning, asking and thinking time during the weekend, we organized again a tour for Mara and Fran and they were so nice to give feedback to the teachers after each visit. This was really useful and helpful. They connected the session from the weekend with the practice. They gave us a lot of ideas and advice on how to continue.

All the teachers are now asking can they change this, and can they have that. And they are so motivated now! And they really start to change their minds for thinking how the children learn, how the environment is important (and they already changed some things).

We are really excited and inspired and now the ball is in our playground and we have to start acting. ~ Beti Gershon, Early Childhood Director Gan Balagan, Sofia
