After a long trip, and a great night sleep, I woke up ready to meet the students at the Lauder School. I was able to tour the beautiful campus and see students engaged in a number of activities from Pre-K to high school. I absolutely loved the outdoor environment that students get to experience on a daily basis. For me, living in the desert in Las Vegas, seeing all the greenery, leaves, mountains and outdoor playground was such a welcomed site. Although the outside of this school was amazing, the inside surpassed the outside. What wonderful and welcoming staff and students at Lauder! My partner colleague Barbara and I seem like we have been colleagues for more than just two Skype sessions and an introductory dinner, and I look forward to my continued work with her. The students were engaged in our discussion, inquisitive and I was surprised at their level of English! I am looking forward to meeting 7th and 8th grade students tomorrow and passing on the Adelson Educational Campus’s 6th grade student challenge to the Lauder students.
