We all enjoy the warm welcome of the Adelson community coming from the leaders, the teachers and the students of this fantastic school. It is such a nice school environment where people, in general, are all so friendly that for us it is very easy to feel at home from the very beginning. We are impressed by the amazing design of the building as well
as the state-of-the-art and high-tech equipment, but for me personally, the most interesting thing is the work teachers do with the children – in a school what matters most is how it approaches learning, development and the community.
I feel privileged to have the chance to observe lessons, to have meetings with the enthusiastic and truly professional teaching staff and to talk to students during the lessons I can give as a visiting educator. When one does all the above it is natural to put one’s own school life and teaching practices into perspective and reflect on it in a new light. I have seen what huge difference the student-teacher ratio makes and how fascinating a 3-teacher led project-based course can be. It is nice to observe how motivated students are during classes and how much personal attention they get from their teachers. The form of classroom work varies from frontal, teacher-led lessons, t
hrough well-organized teamwork to individual learning. I also had the chance to discuss and observe the talent programme – special classes as well as individual cross-grade programs in certain subjects – some real food for thought! The way sports is encouraged and appreciated in this school is just wonderful – a tool for motivation and building the community. On the same note, I believe Project Chesed (Kindness) does make a huge impact on this community – another great idea I am certainly taking home! ~ Kinga
