Strong together

I was sure that the Shabbaton was going to be amazing based on my experience from my first one with the BT kids. First we all went back to the school. The girls put their stuff down in the library and the boys packed them down in the gym. Then we went to pray.  After praying we had dinner. During dinner we met the new BT kids who had not come come to Hungary. I was so happy to make more friends. They were all so nice. When we finished dinner, we had free time until midnight, so most of us went to play sports in the gym. I am very bad at ball games so I stayed in the cafeteria and played cards with a few of my new and both old friends. In good company time goes fast. In one moment we just started to play and then  Rabbi Soskil started to send us to sleep and it was very serious. It obviously did not happen. The girls went back to the library and everybody continued their conversations there. Some people went to sleep,  so we had to be very quiet. First I was a little bit worried about sleeping at the school, but it ended up to be a lot of fun. I am not saying that it was comfortable, but I was up for most of the night, so it was okay. In the morning our teacher woke us up, we had breakfast and then we went to pray with the teen minyan. We had kiddush with them and got donuts. Then everybody could choose to go to alternative  davening or the normal one. In the alternative davening we had a discussion about the biggest test of Abraham. I was so happy that I could answer a few of the questions. Lunch was pretty good and I liked that we sang songs. In the afternoon we got about 2 hours of free time which seemed like 2 minutes because I had so much fun during it. I went to my first ATR – which is an acronym for Ask the Rabbi. I love experiencing new things and really enjoyed the chance to ask anything that interested me. The Shabbat went by so fast I couldn’t believe that we were already doing Havdalah. It was such an amazing feeling to sing songs with my American and Hungarian friends and dance with them. I didn’t even think about my phone during Shabbat. I felt so free without it , the outside world and all of my problems did not bother me for a day. After Shabbat we went to Skyzone, which was super fun. We jumped for about 2 hours. Now that I think about it, it might not be the best idea,  because now I can barely move. In conclusion, this Shabbaton was also unbelievably awesome. It was totally different from the first one but still amazing. Sadly we had to hear a terrible news during the Shabbaton. The Rabbi told us that there was a shooting near us. After Shabbat we heard that eleven Jews were killed. It scares me and makes me sad that there are such evil people in the world who are killing people just because of there religion and makes me believe more that we have to be strong together and not together let those people scare us. – Sandi
