Beginning a new experience

We had our first day at AEC yesterday. I had a great time with Elisabeth and Macy touring the school. It is so friendly, there is so much space and the atmosphere is wonderful. I felt like joining a family, the community is just amazing here. Also, meeting David was such a great moment – we worked together in Budapest and I couldn’t wait to cooperate again.

I had an art class about the synesthesia. The students were amazing. As soon as I started my lecture, 8-10 of them raised their hands and asked so many very interesting, smart questions that I couldn’t even think of. We had a great conversation about my topic. In the second part of my lesson they had the chance to experience and express the relationship between music and visual arts.

Today I visited a music class and I had the chance to teach guitar music to three wonderful guys. They were so open minded that it was a pleasure to work with them.

I love the way that students don’t just sit passively during lessons but they expand their knowledge through experience. They make music with the help of their computers, they try out all sorts of instruments, they make music together, they learn creatively. They can make their ideas real, express themselves and welcome each others` thoughts.

I love just strolling up and down in the school and to meet, see students. They look happy, balanced and both students and teachers are really nice people.

I’m really looking forward to the band rehearsals too.~ Peti
