It was such an inspirational day! We started with a welcome from teachers, parents, and employees from the JCC and eating a delicious breakfast. Next, we had a tour of the 14 classes, where we could observe how the teachers work, and how the classes look. We observed a lot of natural materials: wood, rocks, shells and the children could do many activities at one time, not necessarily all at the same time, which is new for us. Debbie invited us to her garden activities, where we watched the children respect vegetation, look for red wigglers (worms) and exchange observations.
After everything, we had the time to exchange our observations, discuss what are the differences between American and Polish early education, and how we introduce natural materials and contact with nature in our classes with children.
Inspired by the day at school we went to the Pacific Ocean, where we gathered sticks that we will take with us to Poland and use with our classes.
The first day and so many inspirations! We are sure that the next will inspire us again!
