A good balance in activities, forming the one community

I think my most important takeaways and values from the program every year are friends and the time we spend together with really good vibes, and I feel that I can always get closer to my Jewish identity. It’s amazing to realize every year that we are from different part of the world, but forming a community, a group, in which we love, and trust each other.

Shabbaton is one of my favorite programs every year. I always feel free and joyful during that time. We laugh and talk a lot together, I love it very much. I think it is a really good experience every year and I would rather not change anything about it. This was a busy week, we spent a lot of time together during it. We visited classes and I enjoyed it more than last year. I think there was a good balance between visiting classes and having other programs. I think an important goal of this program is to form one community from the Hungarian and American Jewish students. We are really similar because we are teenagers, with the same problems, same thoughts and it does not depend on where we live. It is amazing that we had this opportunity to meet each other and each other’s culture. My suggestion for the next year is to keep this good balance between the outdoors programs and school programs and I think it would be good if it stayed for the next year. I really like to be part of this community. ~ Zita S., Grade 12
