Student teaching, leadership and combating antisemitism

On Wednesday, after a snow day, another day at Leffell school awaited us. First, we had the opportunity to observe classes, but several of us had to go to the school nurse instead because we were not feeling well. Then the morning prayer followed, but this time we could choose where to go because it was divided into smaller groups and each prayed “in a different way”. Then there was another opportunity to observe classes and we went to Spanish class. This was followed by a workshop on medical ethics and halacha. We taught our first lesson of student teaching. We had a specific topic of Czech inventions – student teaching was quite successful. Then it was followed by lunch and after that we had two more workshops. The first was about antisemitism, where Scott Richman – ADL Regional Director for NY/NJ came to talk to us. The second one was with the High School principal, Eric Bassin, about leadership. Reflection followed and then we went to the SkyZone where we had a lot of fun and had very good pizza. We went back to school where we were picked up by our guest families and we each went our separate ways.
