It is wonderful to have the opportunity to see and experience how a school in the US is operating, a school that is quite similar to our school (Lauder Javne School). It was nice to be welcomed so warmly not only by our partner teachers but by all employees and the children as well.
Some children gave us a tour of the school, they were very nice and informative. I was amazed by the spacious building, classrooms, gym, cafeteria.
Although the bases are similar, there are many differences not only because the schools are in different countries. The children have to wear school uniform: a T-shirt or a jumper with a skirt or pants which they have in different designs and colors. It seems they like it.
As I am working in communications, I was interested to talk to the school’s marketing and communications manager to see how they solve communications issues inside the school, between teachers, head of departments and with parents as well. I got many good and useful ideas regarding informing parents, collecting information from teachers about the happenings in their class, new systems which would be helpful and innovative for us to use as well. I feel what I saw here in The Adelson Campus is giving me real professional development in my field, I saw things I also could put into practice. ~ Eszter
